I have been a Flight Attendant for many years. My needles and yarn have always kept me company, either at home or away on the road, for as long as I can remember! Early in my flying career one of my friends was in need of a Chemotherapy Hat to keep warm, and my hands were eager and ready help. After I knit Heather a hat, I kept making more and more, and carried them with me on my flights. I gave them to other flight attendants for family members & friends, to passengers who mentioned a sick loved one, and to anyone I met along the way in need.

When I started designing knitting patterns for the public, I decided to create some simple and easy patterns for those that would like to knit for others dealing with cancer or other debilitating conditions. Knitting for charity helps someone in need stay warm, is a labor of love, and provides a human connection that neither you or the wearer of the knitted item will ever forget.

Included in this section of patterns are some hats created especially for those going through Chemotherapy, some hat & scarf sets, and several shawls for those of you that knit and give your time with the many Shawl Ministries in your local communities. All of your time, caring, and commitment helps to comfort and warm those in need, and lets them know that they are not alone in their circumstances.

These Linen Stitch Scarves are simple and fun to knit. With six scarves written for 4 different weights of yarn, you will have your choice of almost any yarn to work with. Whether you prefer cotton, wool, or a blend...this style wears well for all seasons.
